I LOVE THIS FUCKING MOVIE SO FUCKING MUCH. Check out the direction. I love how erotic Laufey’s murder attempt is, too. He straddles Odin’s lap, sinks into the artron energy covers, and that hard, firm dagger grows out of him as he whispers into Odin’s face… holy shit, guys. And since it’s Branagh, that’s just in the traditional vein of Shakespeare directors milking a script until everything’s sloshing with Freudian subtext. I can’t tell you what a classic drama boner this film gave me, seriously.
